jumbo brown
Our Pharaoh group consists of one jumbo rooster and five jumbo hens. Our quail come from three different sources. One of my favorite traits of the Pharaoh Quail is the fact that they are feather-sexable by around three weeks of age. That is very helpful in being able to identify their genders early on so you can separate out and determine who you will be keeping, selling, or butchering. Contact us and we can help you start or grow your quail covey. You may just be looking for a new roo. We can do that too!
dotted White
We have a Dotted White group consisting of one jumbo roo and five jumbo hens. Our roo is from one breeder, while the hens come from two other breeders, giving us a diversified gene pool. Dotted White are not feather sexable. They have to be vent sexed. For this reason, I will have chicks availabe as straight run only, or as sexed adults.
Tuxedo
Our tuxedo group consists of an jumbo Dotted White roo with an assortment of hens, producing the tuxedo patterns in those colors. Currently we have tuxedos being produced in Pharaoh, Tibetan, and Pearl.
Quail can be a great addition to your family's farm or homestead. Since they are quieter and take up less space, they can be kept in areas that chickens cannot. Quail roosters are not nearly as noisy. We keep breeding groups in ground pens that are 3' X 5'. For protection from predators, their pens are kept together inside a large secure run. I ensured I would be breeding roos to unrelated hens by obtaining eggs from different sources. While there is nothing wrong with inbreeding with birds, I wanted to start with a more diversified genetic pool to have less worries as I move forward with my own breeding. Each breeding group consists of a roo from one breeder and hens from at leas two other different breeders. I color band my quail so I can know where each of my breeders originated from.
